Supporting IBM System Components (IBM Security Directory Suite) – IBM Security Directory Server for IBM Content Foundation

9.1 Supporting IBM System Components (IBM Security Directory Suite)
There are a number of links, as follows, which cover the step-by-step installation of the IBM System Components we are describing in this section. ResearchGate DOIs with free MS Word document downloads are listed following:
https://doi.org/10.13140/RG.2.2.15737.83048
IBM BAW 18.0 Installation 18 07 2019 – Install of IBM Security Directory Suite 8.0.1.1 on CENTOS 8 using VMWare Workstation Pro 15.1:
https://doi.org/10.13140/RG.2.2.30401.51048 (Case Manager Installation on RHEL 8.0_Preparation.docx)
In this chapter, we will enhance the above documentation to include the latest (as of writing) version of the available system and highlight any enhancements and additional configuration steps which have become relevant.
9.1.1 Resources
There is an IBM Knowledge base support website which covers the product code we are using in this chapter, dated 16th December, 2022, which has the latest version at the time of writing, as follows: https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/node/6837469. This is entitled Download IBM FileNet Content Manager Version 5.5.10. It lists the Docker container versions and the standard server platform versions covering all the IBM FileNet Content Manager Version 5.5.10 supported packages.
The installation of IBM Security Directory Suite is covered first, because it is the core component for user validation, which is used by the other IBM System Components and provides the LDAP server, which holds the basic User and Group data used to authenticate the system logins. It also provides the Document and other Object Store object security ACLs used by the IBM FileNet P8 Content Engine.
There is a link to the main IBM knowledge base web page as follows:
https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/sdsu/8.0.1?topic=documentation-installing
The VMware installation procedure we are describing, is covered in the following link:
https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/sdsu/8.0.1?topic=support-setting-up-virtual-machine
(Setting up the virtual machine – IBM Documentation)
For the ISO image file, we need to download for VMware, which has the IBM Security Directory Server pre-built and ready for configuration. We can go to the IBM Software Access Catalog:

Note: IBM is implementing multi-factor authentication (MFA) for all applications and websites. Beginning September 1, 2022, you will be prompted to enable an identity verification method, when signing into IBM PartnerWorld.
