6.5 Installing IBM Security Directory Server 6.4 components
This installation is covered in the IBM Support group URL link:
https://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg22007592
Used ftp to upload the Installation binaries for IBM Security Directory services. Copy the ISO disk image, sds64-linux-x86-64.iso, the Disk Image for the Security Directory Service installations and sds64-premium-feature-act-pkg.zip for the premium features of the SDS.
mkdir /opt/IBM/Installs/SDS64
Copy from /home/wasadm to /opt/IBM/Installs/SDS64
cd /opt/IBM/Installs/SDS64
cp /home/wasadm/sds64. .
Default Installation locations are shown in Table 6.1:
Table 6.1: The Default Directory locations on the Linux system for the Installations
6.5.1 Installation using the disk image file, sds64-linux-x86-64.iso
The image disk file is mounted using the linux mount command as follows:
mount -o loop sds64-linux-x86-64.iso /mnt
cd /mnt
ll
./imlauncher.sh
Note: The above command gave the error which stated it had detected an existing installation manager location, so we have to use the Installation Manager 1.8.5 installed for WebSphere 8.5.5.20 used earlier.
So, we can use the Installation Manager downloaded for WebSphere Installation, using the Desktop Activities and selecting the IBM Installation Manager Icon.
Note: We need the Korn shell to install the Directory Service if you get this message:
Error during
“
install
“
phase:
GLPINS005E The IBM Security Directory Server licenses cannot be installed.
in IBM Installation Manager.
So, ensure the Korn Shell is installed first.
Select the IBM Installation Manager Preferences menu after unzipping the sds64-premium-feature-act-pkg.zip file and add the two repository config files. The first config file in the path /mnt/ibm_sds/repository.config and the second in the path: /opt/IBM/Installs/SDS64/sdsV6.4/entitlement/ibm_sds_ent/repository.config
Click OK and Install.
The two version 6.4 SDS packages to be installed are displayed and the Next button is selected. The License is displayed and the I accept the terms in the License agreement radio button is selected.
The installation directory is entered as /opt/ibm/ldap/V6.4 and the Next button selected. The summary of the install features for IBM Security Directory Server 6.4.0.0 is shown in a tickbox selection list as follows:
IBM DB2
IBM Global Security Kit
IBM SDK Java Technology Edition
Java Client
C Client

Plus, the second install,

These are all selected, and the Next button is clicked.
